Character Design

Sam, the Stegosaurus is the nice, warm, the girl from nextdoor kind of a character.
I felt it was important to use quite a large herbivore dinosaur to represent this gentle character.

Stegosaurus concept drawings:

The boys wanted a somewhat "intellectual" character in this Fearless Five group, which would allow bright young girls to relate to.
Sadly, adding glasses and/or braces (yes, I know. Cliche.) was a failed experiment.

Therefore, the glasses/braces-free Stegosaurus Final:

Tom, the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Tom is the leader of the group. While the concept of a carnivore dinosaur to be the leader of a bunch of herbivores was unusual, it also seemed quite fitting to have the most fearesome dino to lead the group. - and of course, the boys love the T-rex.

T-rex concepts

Tom was hard to design. You never know what the leader should look like as the powerful personality is usually shown through their actions and personalities. Not necessarily through the appearance.

T-rex - final!

Toby the Triceratops is the goofy, and funny character in the Fearless Five story.
This concept was really enjoyable and easy - as I am used to creating goofy/ humorous characters.
The inspiration for this character was mostly John Goodman. See if you can spot any resemblance!
Triceratops concepts & final:

Bruno the Brachiosaurus is Toby's best friend.
Initially, Bruno was the leader of the bunch, but with the introduction to Michelle's Fearless Five, things were about to change! - hopefully for the better...
